Why take a Leaf to an EV workshop for a WOF?

A WOF is a WOF; the standard is the same everywhere. The difference is what happens when something needs attention. A general garage that sees one Leaf a month will often just fail it and send you away. We see Leafs all day, so we know the quick fixes, we have the parts, and we can usually sort it and hand you a pass the same visit.

What we check that others skip

On top of the full standard WOF inspection, on a Leaf we always look at:

• Friction brakes, seized calipers, corroded discs, sticking pads and binding handbrakes from regen doing all the work. This is the #1 Leaf WOF failure.
• Tyres, inside-edge wear from alignment drift and instant torque; age cracking on low-km imports.
• Suspension, front lower arm bushes, drop links and wheel bearings under the extra battery weight.
• Lights, Japanese-market headlight aim and any DRL / auto-light quirks from the import.
• Structural, underbody and the area around the battery tray for corrosion and past damage.
• Warning lights, an EV system fault light will fail a WOF; we can diagnose it on the spot.

How it works

1. Book a time online or by phone, or drop in on a weekday and wait.
2. We inspect the car, about 45 minutes for most Leafs.
3. Passes: you're on your way with the new label.
4. Needs work: we call you with exactly what's failed and a price before doing anything. Most minor items we can fix while you wait.
5. Free re-check within the standard 28-day window if you get repairs done elsewhere.
